About the PREMSTEM Conference

We are pleased to announce that the PREMSTEM Conference will take place in Barcelona from 13 to 15 May 2025. We invite internal and external stakeholders to join us as we present results from our scientific endeavours and their potential benefit to society. Hear about the next steps for our research, including the future exploitation of the scientific results and steps towards clinical trial, as well as reflections on how we have involved stakeholders in the project.

The conference programme will cover the following topics:

  • Novel and innovative approaches to screening
  • Using large animal translational models and how to do it better
  • In vitro studies of stem cell activities
  • Cell based therapies in animal studies
  • Imaging modalities
  • Alternatives and adjuncts to stem cells (extracellular vesicles)
  • From pre-clinical work to an approved therapy
  • Learnings from co-creation: involving external stakeholders in research

We expect this conference to be of interest to medical professionals, members of the scientific community, policy makers, professionals working in regulatory bodies, parent and patient associations, and colleagues from the European Commission and other funding bodies.

If you cannot make it to Barcelona, a registration option to watch live will be offered to participants around the world.

In person conference attendance will be capped at 120 participants so please register well in advance of 1 April 2025.

Atul Malhotra

Associate Professor Atul Malhotra is a senior neonatologist at Monash Children’s Hospital, and a research academic in the Department of Paediatrics at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. He also heads the Early Neurodevelopment Clinic at Monash Children’s Hospital, focusing on the early detection of cerebral palsy and developmental delay in high-risk infants.

Abstracts

We are calling for abstracts to give a talk (10 minutes plus 5 minutes Q&A) or present a poster during the PREMSTEM Conference.

How to submit an abstract

  1. Please download the Word template (link below) and prepare the information for your abstract submission. The template includes all information on word count and format. Please note: figures/tables are not allowed.
  2. Once ready, use the content in the Word document to submit your abstract via the online form (link below).

The body of the abstract text should not be more than 300 words (not including abstract title, names of authors or their affiliations). The title should be limited to a maximum of 25 words.

You will be asked in the online form if you would like to be considered for a presentation, poster or either. Posters will be required to be A0 size and in portrait orientation. Costs for printing and transportation of the poster to the conference will be assumed by the presenter.

We welcome multiple abstracts but will only allow one abstract where you are named as the presenter. You can be the co-author on several submissions.

At least one of the authors will need to be registered to attend the PREMSTEM Conference in person. Abstracts can be submitted prior to registering for the conference.
