Raising awareness and funds for cerebral palsy

The PREMSTEM team has been getting active for STEPtember.

For the second year running, PREMSTEM has taken up the 10,000 step per day challenge as part of STEPtember, an annual fundraising and awareness-raising event organised by the Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA).

Preterm birth is a risk factor which increases the occurrence of cerebral palsy and stem cell research is a top priority for people affected by the disability – great reasons for PREMSTEM to be involved in this initiative!

Congratulations to our colleagues at CPA, Iconeus, RMIT Europe and RMIT University for taking up the step challenge.

In total, PREMSTEM teams managed to raise over €2,800 (A$4,464) and take over 6,882,000 steps! A particular mention to our Australian participants who had to work around restrictions associated with the Melbourne and Sydney lockdowns.

Thank you to everyone who supported us this STEPtember. We’re already looking forward to 2023!
