Raising money for people living with cerebral palsy

This September, the PREMSTEM team participated in STEPtember to raise money for a good cause

STEPtember is an annual event organised by the Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA) to raise money for equipment, research, therapy and services for people living with cerebral palsy.

After a busy 30 days of exercise and fundraising, the PREMSTEM team raised over €2,600 (A$4,400) for this worthwhile cause!

Although there is no single cause of cerebral palsy, we know that preterm birth is a risk factor which increases its occurrence. We are proud that our efforts will provide vital funds for people who need them.

A big thank you to our participants from the CPA, RMIT University and RMIT Europe who dedicated their time and effort to reaching 10,000 steps per day!

Despite the Victorian lockdown in Australia, the researchers from RMIT University managed to accumulate over 957,000 steps between them.

Team members from RMIT Europe took the opportunity to explore Barcelona and make the most of the final days of summer.

Our team members from the CPA were the PREMSTEM team’s top individual fundraiser and top individual stepper with over 566,800 steps!

Thank you to everyone who supported the PREMSTEM team, both through their encouragement and by donating!
